Important Message About Electronic Devices and Technology:

We would like to take a moment to discuss an important issue that affects the education of your child. With the prevalence of technology in society, it has become increasingly common for students to bring cell phones, earbuds, and other kinds of technology to school. While we recognize the importance of technology in today's world, we also believe that it is essential to maintain a safe and productive learning environment for our students.

One of the policies that we have in place is that students are not allowed to use personal technology devices during class time. This includes earbuds, AirPods, phones, etc.  We are asking that these devices remain out of sight during class time. The policy is linked below. We haven’t changed our policy, we will just be enforcing it differently this year. We understand that this policy may be inconvenient for some families, but we believe that it is important for several reasons.

Firstly, these items can be a major distraction in the classroom. Even if students are using them for educational purposes, such as looking up information, taking notes, or listening to music they can still be distracted by notifications and messages that come in on their phones. They also can cause them not to hear the teacher when they are speaking to them. This can disrupt the learning process for themselves and their classmates.

Secondly, these devices can be used to cheat on exams and other assignments. While we trust our students to be honest and ethical, we also know that the temptation to use technology to gain an unfair advantage can be too great for some students to resist.

Lastly, we believe that it is important for students to learn how to focus and pay attention without the constant stimulation of technology. By disconnecting from their personal technology during class time, students can develop better concentration skills, which will benefit them in all areas of their lives.

We appreciate your support in helping us enforce this policy. We understand that it may be difficult for some families, but we believe that it is in the best interest of our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. There is a link to our electronic device policy listed below.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
