Brigham City, UT. Here are the results from the tournament held at Box Elder High School on January 16 and 17. Seems to me that a sophomore state tournament showdown is brewing between Fremont's Ron Wardleigh and Layton's Brayden Humpherys although we can't forget Davis' Parker Nielsen. West Jordan had a good showing at the tournament as the lone representation from Region 3.

It's also nice to see Murray's Kevin Sierer back on the mat following an injury that caused him to seize up and forfeit the first place match at the Viewmont Invitational in late December.

Based on these results, it looks as though Mountain Crest is ready to make history. The Mustangs had a placer in every weight division except 119. That's exactly the kind of dominance they'll need to get past Payson and Box Elder for the 4A state title. If Ethen Lofthouse also locks down his fourth state title (it's just inevitable, isn't it?), it will be the first time a team and individual accomplish the feat simultaneously.
