Region--2009

To say the team title was close would have honestly been an understatement Thursday night at the Region 5 wrestling championships. A mere 2.5 points separated first and second place.

Box Elder Wrestlers Reign Supreme Once Again

OREM — Box Elder and its wrestling coach Mike Ripplinger added one more trophy to the school's growing collection as the Bees captured the 4A state wrestling championship for the fourth time in six years on Friday night.

Pleasant Grove Takes Early Lead

It may be early, but there was definite separation between some of the contenders and the also-rans. Four or five teams have established themselves as the contenders, but no team has jumped out to a comfortable lead after the first day of the 4A and 5A state wrestling championships Wednesday at the McKay Events Center on the campus of Utah Valley State College.

Box Elder Takes Wild Class 4-A

Nothing has been taken for granted in the Class 4-A state wrestling championships. Each round of the tournament ended with a new leader, but it was Box Elder that walked away with the team title.
