Applying to be a BEHS Sterling Scholar

1. Visit the www.behs.besd.net website. Navigate to the “Counseling Office,” “Sterling Scholar” link.
   
2. Review the Sterling Scholar links to find out about eligibility requirements, application procedures, qualifications and judging, category descriptions, and timelines.
   
3. Complete the Student Entry Form Application (must be typewritten) (We suggest opening up the application form, typing your responses, and then printing it out)
   
4. Request a Student Transcripts from Mrs. Ilene Norda (registration secretary). (Allow at least two days for transcripts to be printed for you) Attach transcripts to your completed application.
   
5. Turn in the completed typewritten Student Entry Form Application with the copy of your transcript to Mrs. Sparks in the library by Monday, Nov. 9th at 3:00 p.m.
6. Each department will review the applications/transcripts and determine a final applicant.  Departments may require an interview with those students who are applying. 
7. Finalists will be announced by the school after all departments have made their final selection.

Good luck and congratulations on your efforts and achievements! Sterling Scholar is a tremendous honor and experience! If selected, you will be representing Box Elder High School in Region and/or State Sterling Scholar Competitions. Scholarships are often available for those selected!
