COLLEGE BOUND STUDENT – ATHLETE
NCAA ELIGIBILITY
- In order to attend college on an athletic scholarship, athletes must meet all NCAA
Clearinghouse eligibility requirements.
- Students and their parents or guardians are responsible to know NCAA policies,
guidelines, and eligibility requirements.
- Students are responsible to enroll in and complete the core-course eligibility
requirement and to complete the required student release forms.
- Institutes of higher learning including those with NCAA affiliation may have additional
entrance and high school course requirements. Students and their parents or guardians are responsible for becoming aware of, and meeting those requirements.

16 CORE-COURSE RULE
16 Core-Courses:
4 years of English.
3 years of mathematics (Algebra 1 or higher).
2 years of natural/physical science (1 year of lab).
1 year of additional English, mathematics or
natural/physical science.
2 years of social science.
4 years of additional courses (from any area
above, foreign language).
Only courses listed on the List of Approved Core Courses for BEHS are accepted.

All Core Course Titles must be on the Approved List of Core Courses for BEHS.

- Credit posted on a BEHS transcript from other high schools or credit programs must be posted on the Approved List of Core Courses from the original institution.
