Utah Career Fields correlate with Holland Codes. Student career interests are most commonly described by the six career personality types defined by John Holland in his theory of occupational choice. An individual will typically be compatible with up to 3 Holland Codes.

Technical Realistic (Doer)
Realistic personality types have good coordination, motor skills, and mechanical aptitude. They enjoy using tools and prefer hands-on work tasks.

Scientific Investigative (Thinker)
Investigative personality types enjoy science and math. They are analytical thinkers and enjoy working with ideas. They generally prefer to work alone.

Arts and Recreation Artistic (Creator)
Artistic personality types are imaginative and creative. They favor unstructured work environments and enjoy art, music, literature, and poetry.

Social Humanitarian Social (Helper)
Social personality types like helping others and working with others. They have good communication skills and enjoy social situations.

Marketing and Administration Enterprising (Persuader)
Enterprising personality types like leadership positions and being in charge. They are very persuasive and have very good verbal abilities.

Business Operations Conventional (Organizer)
Conventional Personality types like working with numbers and other data. They pay close attention to detail and prefer structure and rules in their working environment.
